Original and innovative designs are at the heart of DUCFS. We would be no where today without our community of the industry’s inspiring upcoming designers, one of which is pictured below.
KITTY-KEMP WELCH
Kitty-Kemp Welch is an independent designer who we have collaborated with for two years. First featured in ‘Walk 5: Cataclysm’ of DUCFS25, we extended our partnership in order to spotlight Kitty’s garments again in our theme release shoot for the 2026 campaign.
This specific look has been produced from painted metal gauze that Kitty has manipulated to create a sea of jagged waves forming a two-piece corset and skirt. This upcycle of what would have been wasted man-made material made Kitty’s work stand out from other new talent not only for sustainability, but also for the dedication that was manifested clearly in the details of the garments’ painting.
The depth Kitty’s technique created worked perfectly in ‘Cataclysm’ which focused on visualising an apocalyptic and surreal fantasy. For DUCFS26, we spotlighted the look for the “glitch” in the Reality:Rewired shoot as we believed the metal gauze served such a contrast to any clothing from the ready-to-wear market, which was used in another section of the shoot to contrast Kitty’s masterpiece
